Hi - I just got a Carver 405 and have an issue with shower draining. It is very slow. I am thinking that there may be hair blockage somewhere? How can I resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Regards
Sha

If your speaking of the aft head shower it is possible for a hair clog but also if the sump box has a problem. You know the shower drain runs to the sump box that is below the hatch in the aft cabin by the head. You could look there and see what you find. Make sure your pump and float is working! If it's ok and clear, you can gain access to the drain in the shower by removing the 4 screws the drain is mounted in. You might need to remove the hose and it flush out.

Yep, aft shower sump. It needs to be cleaned regularly. Hair, soap etc. makes it pretty nasty, pretty quickly if you use the shower.

Thank you. I will see if I can find the unit and clean it this upcoming weekend.

should be under the floor between the bed and the entrance to the head compartment. You have to pull up the carpet.

Another option before you tear into stuff is to pour hot water down the drain. That fixed the same issue for me.
