My 355 is an 86 model. Just replaced a section of line that was leaking. The push fittings were easy to release and reinstall line.

Never seen that happen. How old are the fittings that seem to be breaking down?

This is an old thread but in my experience, usually the fittings that leak are the ones that get removed and put back on periodically like for winterizing a hot water heater with no by-pass. Even under those circumstances, it's usually the line that gets worn at the area where the fitting grips. Constant re and re roughens up that area where the fitting's seal needs to do its thing resulting in a leak. Cutting off 1/2" of line is enough to solve that problem. Any strain on the line from improper hook ups or tight radiuses will also cause leaks at the fittings too.

2001........plastic became brittle on hot water side elbows, perhaps defective....there was no response back in 2019.
