I am installing new bathroom sink faucets. I have the Quest to PEX adapters, if needed. Question, is why and how did QUEST piping get such a bad rap?

It was used in a lot of mobile home and also single and multi-family new construction "way back when" and had been considered the best thing to use, as it was much easier and much cheaper than copper. After a few decades it started to deteriorate and develop cracks and leaks and had to be replaced, but the leaks also caused major structural damage. There was a huge class-action lawsuit and you could get reimbursed for some of the costs of swapping it out if you met certain conditions. Those conditions had to be things like the "plumbing was installed in non-accessible areas" (like a closed-in wall). I actually explored that when I replaced mine, but a boat didn't quality as there were too many access hatches and ways to get to the piping to replace it.

It actually wasn't that hard of a job to replace it all. I put of the project for several years thinking it was going to be a real PITA, but was glad once I actually committed to doing it and whipped right through the project.
