Inline Fuse from Batteries to DC Panel

Hi Everyone,

I arrived at my boat today and discovered that although i have AC power, I do not have DC. Inverter screen is telling me my batteries are in float charging mode and I've tested the batteries to confirm they are at +-13.4v.

Ive read numerous topics on this issue. Is there indeed an inline fuse from the battery selector switch to the DC panel? If so where exactly is it? Cannot find it in my search!

Next step is to remove sliding doors and test/replace the DC main switch unless you all have some different sneaky suggestions!

Your help is always appreciated.

Cheers, Greg

Not sure how your boat is set up but I am pretty sure I only have the main breaker on the DC panel instead of a fuse. My DC panel will be dead if I close the battery switch for the house bank. I have a secondary DC panel near the helm which also has a main breaker for a fuse however this panel is connected to my starting banks which feeds all instrumentation or everything at the helm if you prefer. Cannot remember since I rarely go there but under the stairs where my house bank battery switch is located, I do believe there is another main DC breaker. Just a few things to check if your boat is set up similarly.

I believe there is a breaker under your step into the cabin that powers up the panel. I've had to replace a couple. Not easy to get at but it's doable.

To add....it is not unusual for the breaker contacts to break with all the heavy cabling stuck in behind those panels. I have had two of those crack and fail.

Hi Gang,

Replaced the 60A breaker on the DC panel AND cleaned every post/connection on every battery. We now have DC power and we're back to normal!

Thanks for everyone's great help.

Be Safe, Greg
