Recently purchased 2000 Carver mariner 350. My problem is my boat runs great for literally six hours bringing it back home then all of a sudden when we brought both engines down to 5 miles an hour in a no wake zone the left shut down and will not restart limp at home on one engine, wait until the next day and it starts up like nothings wrong. Ran it for a couple hours. The next day ran like a top slow down to another wake zone left onion shut off limp at home again next day it starts right up. Somebody suggested that it might be a voltage problem anybody else have Any input on what might be my problem?

You have voltage gauges for both engines at the helm, correct? What do they measure when you're running?

Can you switch fuel tanks to see if it doesn't occur in a different configuration? Could be developing some vacuum in the tank due to a poor/blocked vent. When the engine shuts down if you can quickly open the fuel fill and see if there's a "hiss" when you open it that'd be a good indication there's an issue with the vent.

Or a dirty fuel filter which has a tendency to pick up dirt until there is a restriction and the engine shuts down. When left alone as in engine stopped, the dirt falls off and opens up the filter again allowing the engine to run until it clogs again. Sounds a little strange but this has happened to me many moons ago.

Welcome to the forum.......My guess, each engine is fed by its own tank in that boat.....check and clean the anti syphon valve at the fuel line from tank fitting, perhaps some crud there creating some pressure issues.

Which engine package do you have ?

Make and model of the engines would help.

Have you recently changed oil? A friend of mine had a similar issue. It turned out one engine was slightly overfilled. he drained a quart of oil from the engine that was shutting down, and the issue went away. Good luck! er

With my 2000 Carver mariner 350 I’m not sure if I have a tank selector switch so I can try running this off of one tank. Where would that be located??
