Carver 3607 electric galley help

Hi team,

I'm redoing the electrical system on my Carver 3607, and frankly, it's a mess. I need to change the chargers, and I'm not sure how to redo the distribution panels without tearing everything out. It’s honestly more complicated than optimizing the latency in an online game at least there, if you mess up your settings, you don't risk a fire! Has anyone here done this before? Any tips and tricks to avoid burning the boat or breaking the bank on reliable equipment?

Thanks, guys.

The easiest way to go is replace the panel with the same one from another 3607. I would check marine salvage yards, you might get lucky with finding the same one. Short of that, you can have a custom one made or buy a generic one off the shelf that has the breakers and labeling you need. Even if you can't find one with the same hardware, it wouldn't be difficult to get the labeling and breakers you need for your application. What I highly recommend though if you're replacing the entire panel is to label all the wires as you remove them from the breakers,
buss bars, etc. It also helps to take enough pics that will help in reassembly later.

Why do you need to replace the panel?

Explain what the current issue(s) are and what you're trying to accomplish.

I had a 3607 and did major rewiring under both helms, but I thought the main panelboard (breaker panel) was pretty well done from the factory. I added fuse panels to replace the junction blocks under each helm so the wiring was much cleaner and also provided separate fusing for different functions, rather than it all be just protected by the main "helm" breakers.

Do you have the original wiring diagrams for the boat? Depending on what year yours is, I might have info to help. I have the original docs for a 83 model and could email to you.
