Carver 396 - running speaker wires

Hi All,

I was attempting to run new speaker wires from an amp to my read hard deck. Pulled apart every access panel I could find, thought I saw a clear pathway, however there doesn't appear to be any raceway between the wing going up and the hard deck. Looks like the current wiring all enters from underneath and that looks like a real bugger.
Anyone else have issues or suggestions? MY guess is this could be true for many models.

Thanks!

If you have speakers currently installed in the hardtop, one trick is to find out where they run to and disconnect them. Attach the new wires to them and pull them from the connection at the speaker, If done with some finesse, it works well.

Are you trying to get to the speaker wires going to hard top speakers or install new speakers in the aft deck wall somewhere?

The speaker wires going to the hard top speakers come out of the short wall on the aft deck on port and stbd side and go into the support pillars and up to the hard top. There is a small oval access plate on each pillar that allows you access to those speaker wires.

I think those wires come up from the aft stateroom. To get access there you may need to take apart some of the cabinetry on the port side of the aft state room. All the wiring coming from the bridge goes through the aft corners of the bridge and bellow decks.. There is no way to run wire to the aft deck wall or support pillars passing through the wing doors.

If you're coming from the bridge the only other way is up the radar arch, into the hard top and down the pillars and into the wall. That is not going to be easy at all. There's only a small hole where wires pass from the pillars to the hard top...

I installed the super structure on one of those...
