Replacing Carpeting

I am thinking about replacing the carpet in my 2004 396 while it is on the hard in heated storage this winter. Last year I pulled the carpet up around the galley area when I put in hardwood flooring and found it was glued down and a bear to get up. Does anyone have experience doing this and is willing to share their knowledge and techniques that might make the job go easier?
Thanks,
Dan

I do. Pay somebody!
In our refit, the only two things I thought I should leave to the pros was the carpet and the granite.
Money well spent.

I agree. Pay someone. My carpet in my 4207 was glued. It took the installers two days to do the two staterooms and salon.

Also had a 4207 previously. Same deal - installer took 2 days.
Installed a top line white frisee (sp?) carpet.
