Davits for Inflatables

I am getting ready to install Weaver Snap davits on my 03 366 swim platform. There are no panels underneath and no obvious access from the aft cabin.

I ordered toggle bolts for the install. Before I drill, has anyone gone this route? Is there foam inside the platform that may get in the way?

Not sure about what your model is, but I am trying to not use weaver as i am tired of taking the motor on and off at every stop.
I have read about a fellow on a searay sight who made a six inch access plate from the bottom and then out backing plates inside.
On my boat I installed a hoisr by accessing from the small side accessports at the rear, to underneath the inside of the platform. I drilled holes and used an extension onmyratchet wrench until i connected. Go to FB cabin crusier owners, join the group and you will see photos under my name elliott shuchat.
You must install backing plates. In my aft cabin, a night table comes apart and i can see the bottom of the platform decl from inside.myou might be able to do that on your model. Many people talk about access from the engine compartment if they dont have aft cabins

On my 2003 366, I recently installed a large staple & baitboard. It also is used to attach the dinghy when we tow it. The staple just like the weaver has 2 base plates each with 4 holes. It also stops me falling off the back when fishing. I used screws & silcon adhesive & it is as solid as a rock. Not sure what weight you are thinking of putting onto the weaver but if it's a reasonable size inflateable, I think that good size screws + adhesive will be OK. Note that some of the screws went into a metal frame which runs along under the platform. Trouble is because centre it you can't move the base to match up with the frame underneath. You may be able to find it with a magnet?

Please go back and look at my recent post about the rear platform access, if its not too late. There is info there that will help you. Or, to search type 355 swim platform access
