As my wife starts the replacement of the eisenglas, I'm going to start on transforming this original pink (the last of it!) table into a teak veneer table.

I'll start by turning the tablet over and making where each piece goesi

Then I drill a small pilot hole in the center of each screw plug.
This is so when I drive a wood screw through the plug to force the plug out, I hit the plug on the center, or at least near center.

Like so.
I've got a whole bunch to do like this, will show a pick of the table with the trim removed later

One more.
Once the plug is removed, the glue and broken off teak inside the while must be removed. The glue also guild up the flights off the Phillips head.
In the case of my very first one, the head Will have to be removed with a drill, and then once the trim is removed, the shank of the screw will have to be removed with a pair of pliers.

Ithe first time I did this was on our 4207. I took the entire front of the port main cabin cabinet apart to install a larger tv (crt back then).
I only had to drill a few screws out.
So far on this one, the first six. Seems the guy putting this one together used way more glue. I can't get the bit to grab the screw head. At least these are brass screws.
Anyway, first long side off.
I used that block of oak to carefully pry the trim piece off of the screw shanks.

Awesome write up, Fred, subscribing. Where was this table in your 3697?

Starboard side.

Three screws so far came out as they should. Brass drills easy though, and the head comes up the but once separated from the shank.

Are you going to put the wood trim back on?

Yes the trim is going back on. Trim is all off now. Next is to rough this formica up so I can apply the sheet of teak veneer to it with contact cement.
Probably will glue and attach next weekend. Wife needs help with the isenglass
