Shower faucet

Postby pepmyster » May 21st, 2019, 7:37 am

Hey everyone! We installed a new faucet for the galley over the weekend. I am now onto the shower faucet which continues to leak. Anyone ever change just the cartridge?

Looks nice!

On the leaking one, I've found many times if you just take the original one apart and clean it well you can put it back together and it may not leak again, ever.

I know, been there. Still leaks. Wondering if anyone has done an o-ring reseal.

Give it a try "o" rings are cheap......the trick will be to get the same size ( thickness ).....where do you think you may find a cartridge like that?

Actually to add...if you check inside where that cartridge sits and there are any worn areas like scratches the you can feel with your fingernail it may be time to replace the entire tap, even a new ring will leak after a short time. Sometimes they can be cleaned with very fine emery.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
