Spring Prep

No pics to show yet, but I've started buffing and waxing...only have the flybridge shell to do. She is shining better than last year...it's quite impressive for a 16 year old boat! We're also making new curtains for the entry door and I'm installing underwater lighting after I sand off all of the red bottom paint and change it to black. Why the previous owner changed it to red is beyond me...especially with the green canvas!

After spending a year of weekends and vacations getting our Mariner back together, I've been taking it easy this winter. But real soon I gotta get going.

I also have to buff, but my boat sat out in the sun untouched for 10 years. I bought 3m Perfect-it compounds, all three. So I figure I'll have to buff the whole thing 4 times including the wax.

Other jobs - new interior sound system with Klipsch in-wall speakers, install a TV somewhere, install a 3 rd bilge pump in the forward hull, install the new AC unit under forward berth, install a KVH heading compass and tie it into MARPA on the radar, I still have to hook GPS up to the ICOM, get Sirius working on the bridge sound system, make a new cover for the compartment next to the helm, buy a teak tabletop to replace the last of the pink formica on the interior, and apply the 3m Dinoc to the black part of the hull between the windows.

And then start a new list of things to do!

I would think with all our snow from this winter, it'll be 6 more weeks easy, before we can do anything up here!

Ok....almost a month since my last post, and still the same answer for me. It's still snowing up here, and STILL likely to be 6 more weeks before I can do anything!! I bet there's a run on heated inside storage in my neck of the woods, next year!!
