1988 Carver Voyager my old/new boat

Postby Blue Braid » May 1st, 2025, 12:06 pm

Hello

I sold this boat 8 years ago as I got tired of the yearly and other maintenance - always do everything myself and my kids were not using it much. I regretted it almost immediately as my kids shared all the memories at family gatherings. So the new owner called me a month ago as I requested he would if he ever sold it and he is basically giving the boat to me, as he hasn't used it in 3 years and he is getting on in age . I checked it out and it looks like the day I sold it nut a bit moldy on the closed cabin. So I am needing some Clorox spraying.

Anyway I couldn't be happier having this back. I got a slip right next to my son's boat and very close to my Contender. Picture in my old slip they week I sold it. This is at Hayes Haven Marina on the CT River in Chester CT. I live in nearby Higganum, CT.
Other picture in Greenport (NY) on our first trip in 1988 when the kids were kids. The boat is Waterfriends 4 and the Registration number is one. That should tell you how old I am. ;_-)

1. How do I post a picture..if allowed?

Thanks, Bob

Welcome to the forum.....good story, hits home with me as I am in the process of trying to get an old boat back. We had one much like yours many years back.
Good luck going forward....
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Welcome. Glad you were able to reverse your decision to get rid of her. I love our 405, but I too have missed my old boat which was a Trojan32. The style and teak on her really was beautiful to me and many many great memories.

Congats on getting your old boat back! My wife would love it if we could buy our 4207 back again! Even though I’m quite happy with our 36 ft Carver aft cabin, my wife never forgave me for selling the 4207.
