We are new members to the Carvers OWNERS FORUM. We currently own a Meridian 341- 2007 model. We have been living on board since January of this year. We sold our house of 38 years in January and moved on board. We have our boat for sale and have been very interested in replacing our boat with either a 466 or a 506 Carver. We have looked at a few 466's but have yet to set foot on a 506. Of course we want a freshwater boat with Cummings diesel engines. Which we are finding to be somewhat rare! My wife has retired and I hope to retire in a some capacity after the first of next year and start doing a little more traveling. Our home base is at the 700 dock in Joe Wheeler Marina at Joe Wheeler State Park which is right next to Wheeler Dam on the Tennessee River. We are looking forward to learning from all of your members about Carvers and diesel engines.

The broker that works out of the marina that I work at has a 564 listed....a 506 with a cockpit. Same interior, reasonable price with Volvo 675 hp engines. It's near Cleveland. Contact me if you want to know more

Thanks to all of you. We have just purchased a 2001 506 Carver with 480 Volvos. Still at Aquayacht Marina-Iuka, MS where it was delivered to. Came from Lake Texoma and delivered by SandK Yachts out of Oklahoma, who did a fabulous job transporting her to the Tennessee River. If you are not familiar with Bob Allred the owner of SandK let me say I can highly recommend them. They have an old carver delivery cradle to transport this boat. I am looking forward to talking with other 506 owners as we familiarize ourselves with this boat.
