Just purchased a 2006 44 CMY, previously 444. Twin Volvo 370, lots of upgrades, low hours. After 2 shakedown cruises, looking forward to continuous upgrading and tips on maintenance issues.

Cheers
Rod

Welcome, those Volvos scared me at first but they have been rather bullet proof since the get go. Now I simply love them. Only drawback is parts are expensive and difficult to locate but I can help you out there when it comes to locating most maintenance items. While I do have the same engines the boat is the little brother of yours. Enjoy and post often.

Hans, do you not have a Volvo dealer close by? Parts shouldn't be difficult to get for these. Expensive, yes!

Vancouver's the Volvo hub for Canada so if they have it, you'll get it quick Rod as long as you hook up with a good dealer. We get Volvo parts overnight in Ontario so it shouldn't be an issue in BC. Haven't had an issue with parts availability for those yet. Find a dealer that keeps a decent stock of maintenance items on hand at all times.

Put it this way, I wanted to change out the engine antifreeze as preventative maintenance last month. Could drive 2 hrs to Ottawa as there is a great service center located there but a little far. Called Wajax as they are official Volvo Penta parts dealership, they referred me to a shop I know well just near my shop however they are closed from July 2 to Aug 15th. Oddly enough, the owner is a well seasoned semi retired salt who shuts the entire business down for the best part of boating season! I know if I was on the west coast getting Volvo parts and stuff done is a breeze but around my neck of the woods it could be weeks to get simple parts. Mercruiser on the other hand or Volvo gas engine parts are readily available everywhere.
