New to Forum, Carver...and boating in general.

I've been stalking your forum while looking for a boat. I finally found a pretty clean 1989 Carver 3227 Convertible that I thought was a good deal and it suited the intended purposes for me and my family (mostly cruising the Santa Rosa Sound around Pensacola Beach and a little fishing and an overnighter or two). And so I bought it. Still working the on logistics of shipping from Wisconsin to Florida but hopefully she will be here in the next couple of weeks and I can start cleaning her up and taking care of the things that need to be taken care of. I have had ski boats and party barges, but this is my first foray into a larger boat with twin inboards that will sit year-round in a slip. So, in spite of EVERY friend I have telling me NOT to buy a boat, I'm all in...and it's all good. Thanks in advance for your help and patience. I will try to research it before I post it, but I know I will have 10,000 questions.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your new purchase. The friends telling you to buy it have never spent time on a boat with Family. Can be one of the greatest experinces you will ever enjoy. I have been doing it for many decades and have never considered giving it up.

Wisconsin for Florida! Would have given you a GREAT excuse to do half the Great Loop and get a good "sea trial" in while not being far from shore!!

Great looking boat!! Congrats on the purchase!

Welcome Aboard, nice boat and a fresh water boat to boot. Looks very roomy. Yeah, boating is an expensive hobby but IMO worth every cent spent. See my thread, 2017 How Much Have You Spent On Your Boat Year To Date. I'm over 8 grand with just 5 weeks left in my season. The fun I have had this year, worth every penny.

Good luck to you and I hope you have lots of fun and adventures aboard your new toy.

Looks like the boat is in great shape! I have the exact same model year. I've been impressed by how well built the boat is, and how much Carver got into the floor plan, including upper and lower helms, two staterooms with full doors, and a separate shower stall!
