Hi new Member here! Starting to think spring so joined this neat forum to learn something from other Carver owners. I purchased a mint condition 28' Carver Santa Cruz 2866 some years ago for lake trout fishing (only had around 250 Hrs on the engines and stored always indoors). I think they call this the Sport Fisherman model due to the large fishing deck in back. Works great!

Look forward to learning some useful information. Happy fishing!

Welcome, although you got here before me. I've had my 76 Santa Cruz 2866 for ten years or so now, and it's given me nothing but pleasure. Any problems have been easy to fix, and it's doing well for a 42 year-old boat. The original configuration came with a propane stove/oven, with the purpose-built tank stored in the live well. I had to remove that for insurance reasons, but with the large deck, I do most of the cooking outside anyway. The microwave oven does fine inside.
Stay in touch. I'm sure we'll have questions/info to exchange.
