Hello folks, New member here, Introducing myself. Name is Mobin Akhtar (aka Moby). From Sugar Land TX. We recently purchased 2003 396AFT MY from Clear Lake Shores in TX. I plan on Keeping it in Pelican Rest marina for short day trips only at this time. For the last 3-4 years, I had been looking at 350 Mariners (97-03 only) and liked the oval window look. When this 396 came along, it was way outside my budget but I loved the layout and family fell in love with the idea of having two staterooms.

At this time we do not plan any long trips but as nice as this boat is, we may consider it in the future. Here are general specs:

Michigan freshwater boat, I'm the third owner. New Name "Moby's Island"
Twin Crusader Gas 8.1L with approx 108 Hrs each since new.
Floor Plan A with recessed kitchenette, no dinette and pullout double bed.
Port side foldable round Diner table/chairs option instead of a loveseat
40 Mile Radar, Autopilot, GPS and dual Raymarine TouchHybrids 8"
Super clean boat - Fusion networked AV system with Bose outdoor speakers
Full enclosure, Achilles Dinghy with davits on the swim platform, 5HP 4-stroke Mercury

I did buy the boat without a survey (Last survey was from 3 years ago and all work locally performed at the same marina. PO used it as a condo and was living in it without driving it much (about 10-15 engine hrs in 3 years). I negotiated the boat with 100% service costs and replacements in mind so NO REGRETS as I got a very good deal on it). I am having it surveyed next week for peace of mind and insurance needs.

Congrats and welcome aboard!!

Just curious...do you know if someone piloted it down to TX or shipped it?

I don't know for sure but from following old listings etc, I have concluded that it had to be shipped down or it would have much more than the hours on engines or generator currently (104 port, 106 stbd, 130 genset).
