I have had a an Achilles inflatable and figured it was time for an upgrade. So I will call my self a New Boat Owner. My son and I recently bought a 1988 Carver Montego 2757.
The boat runs well and we have had a couple good runs but keep finding various nuisances as is to be expected with a boat. I figured I would check into this forum as I am sure others have experienced the same minor inconveniences as we have.

My first "big boat" was a 1988 2757, loved the boat, I don't think there is another 27 with as much room.
Mine had the twin 3.7 liter LX motors 190hp with 4bbl carbs. Was a bit slow to get on plane when loaded but ran fine when on top of the water. If you have the 3.7's look for spare parts as they are very hard to find, and really expensive when you can find them.
These motors were a mercury made aluminum block with a ford 460 head. Freshwater cooled with a magneto behind the flywheel.
Water cooled voltage regulator 10 plus years ago $450.
Many parts no longer available new.
