We have a 1995 Carver 390MY that is new to us and we would like to remove the swim platform from this boat in the fall and rebuild and/or have it modified over the winter or just add new. Is it thru bolted does anyone know or can we remove just the platform from outside. Can anyone give us advice regarding this?

I would bet $ there are nuts inside that you need to get a wrench on.

I guess it depends on what you want to do with the existing swim platform. If you want to re-core it you remove the upper or lower fibreglass skin and re-core it. If you want to make it bigger you don’t have to remove it.
I had a 40” extension put on my 356 but the dealer when I purchased it. It was expensive, but very much worth it.

Greg, your 356 has a platform molded as part of the hull. Its not a bolt on like the older models. You really cant add on to them and have any structural integrity.

We are hoping to be able to remove it and fix or modify it and then re install it. It has a soft spot which needs to be addressed and we are hoping to be able to do that over the winter.

What did you guys do about this? Mine has a soft area. Almost like there is no real support under in one particular area. Love to know how you resolved the concern

Likewise with regards to the soft spot. The starboar side of our swim platform on the 1988 Santego 30 feels much softer than the portside. Would love to get this resolved in the offseason.
What would be involved? It does look like a molded swim platform as well.
