I have a 1979 Carver that was my fathers. I am restoring her (she is in great shape) to her glory days. I can not find any information, website, archives or specs on line. Can some one point me in the correct direction. I am also wanting to acquire a new owners manual for the boat... Any help out there.

So you didn't say what model your 1979 carver is but you will find some manuals on website www.manualzz.com. i googled 1979 carver manual and there were several on the site. may get lucky there or a member here by pharncus who has downloaded many from the now defunct carver website.. you may want to pm him with your boat info and see what he might have..

Welcome aboard and definitely post some pics!!

You might find there are others on here with the same model and will share some pics of their own to help you in your project. There will be many things on the boat that are not specific to that model though, so many folks might be able to help you with questions.

She is a 1979 28 Mariner and was my fathers. When he past never knew what happened to her. I found her sitting in a field. The engine was removed along with the out drive. I have learn the person who bought her blow the engine on the first trip out because he did not turn on the sea cock for water to flow to the engine. I have a new power plant and out drive going in her. We have cleaned her up and polisher her to a nice shine. The salon was in perfect condition. I still have my personal items in her. It was like opening a time capsule. I am so stoked to have her back.

Very cool and looks like she is in great shape. That hull will polish up to be like brand new!

Good luck with the project and keep us posted on progress!!
