Hi, my wife Heather and I purchased a 1977 Carver Mariner in Pittsburgh. We have gutted it and plan on restoring it. Some day we are going to take it to Florida.

We will need a lot of advice and help to say the least, this is our first “big” boat.

It is on the water but here’s a pic of it out.

Next up to map the floor out see what underneath we want to keep and make accessible.

We have a great guy to help us, going to start with simple things like electrical while it’s open.

Going to go all led wherever possible inside and out. No more electric stove we won’t need it, we are going portable AC, composting toilet.

Engines need cleaned up and are Fords but they run very good and start right up (at least last week they did lol)

Going to winterize / wrap it so we can work on it in the winter too (get in and out).

Once we map the floor and what’s under it and rip out what we don’t want or need we are going to start rebuilding it. May try to lower it even if just an inch or two.

We are going patch up some through hills we won’t need and are going to paint / seal the entire inside top to bottom in probably white before we do too much too.
