Hello all,
After six years of owning a 2001 Cruisers 4450 I've just closed on a 2003 Carver Voyager 570. Currently the voyager is in Port Clinton, OH and I'm in Chicago. I'm waiting on the ice in the Straits of Mackinaw to melt so that I can get her home.
I'm excited to spend some time on the new boat and get to know her. Also looking forward to interacting with others here. Any other 570 owners?
Ben

Welcome. Is the boat the one at Skipper Buds Marina Del Isle? If so, that is a beautiful boat. I have my boat at that marina and can see that voyager from my slip.

If it's the one that Marine Max had, the company I work for originally sold it. Nice boat and the owner took great care of it. Congrats on the new boat regardless, they are great boats. You will be very happy with the room and performance of her. I'm told by the original owner that she cruised at 29MPH.

Congrats! That's a super nice boat, I looked at that one went for the 506 instead. You will love the room on it. I just launched on Monday and am bringing the boat 247 miles up the Trent Severn on the 16th of May.

Kenny,
It is the Marine Max boat that John Sima originally sold. I'm awfully excited to get her home. If the weather cooperates I'll be bringing her home on May 15th.

She's almost home. Thursday of last week I went to Port Clinton, OH to retrieve her. Thursday was a washout due to poor weather. Friday I ran her from Port Clinton, OH up Lake Erie to the Detroit River, then to Lake St. Claire, then up the St. Claire River to Lake Huron. Friday we made it as far as Presque Isle, MI. On Saturday we ran from Presque Isle, MI up to the Straits of Mackinac, through the Straits onto Lake Michigan and to Luddington, MI. Sunday was a little too rough to run home so I left her in Luddington. Today a captain is running her to Chicago for me.

Thanks for posting all the pics of your initial voyage. Exciting stuff and all seemed to go well.
I also just purchased a Carver 570. Mine is a 2002 Sky Lounge that is going to be delivered from its current location on Lake of the Ozarks to Lake Texoma (Texas side) in the next week or so. Although I have owned a number of other vessels - this is the first I am having shipped. A bit nerve wracking but I did find an experienced, reputable company to do it. Our plan is a few years here on the lake until we are closer to retirement and then move it again to the gulf coast for longer trips. Planning eventually on summers in the great lakes and winters down south, if all works out.
Here is a picture from the sea trial
