Hi - just took delivery of a 2002 Carver 450 Voyager and moved her from Anacortes to Tacoma under spectacular blue skies. Took about 7-8 hrs and everything ran fine. Now I have a long list of survey items to rectify for insurance (and myself!). Boat was very dirty inside and out so stripping everything out and starting the clean up. Thruster gear case full of water is one of the first items on the list, minor drip on a Tides shaft seal, fractured davit weld, exhaust elbow replacement and typical safety items. The "to-do" list is a mile long and at this point I'm just trying to get organized so that I have a realistic plan to get this boat back in shape. :captain2:

Welcome to the forum......Heh a question for me as we are in the process as well, did the insurance give you a timeframe/leeway to rectify the survey findings while still being insured ?

Congrats and welcome aboard.

Is the thruster a Volvo QL?
What brand of davit is it, a Seaweed?

Yes - 8/10 for the safety items and 9/1 for all the rest. Some of the "rest" are not items I'm going to take care of though (recertify 19 year old liferaft" so I'll have to have a discussion with them.

The thruster is a Volvo QL BP-1200. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth just changing the gear case out or installing a new one. The davit is a Nick Jackson, possibly undersized for the Walker Bay 12 dinghy, but I'll first try having it weld repaired and make sure it's always well secured.
