We are getting the run around from a seller we currently have under contract and would love an opportunity to find a replacement and walk away from this deal. Anyone have a 42'-44' Carver 1988-2001 you might be thinking of selling??

All 3 are nice boats, but in the case of interior living space, the 404 is going to be pretty cramped compared to the other 2, especially the 4207.
If a cockpit is important to you, scratch the 4207. If it's not that important, add the 396 to your search.

Why is the 4207 cockpit not as good? Not as roomy?

I don't think the 4207 has a cockpit. It's just an aft cabin. I could be wrong though.

OK, I think you meant the 404 cockpit boat. The 4207 does not have a cockpit.
Interior space of a 404 is considerably smaller than a 4207. The 404 is a 356 with a cockpit. I have a 356 which is noticeably smaller than the 3807 I used to have which is quite a bit smaller than a 4207.

How about posting the for sale ad here? Others may be interested. Like maybe me!

Waybomb: Probably a good idea! We had listed with a broker and the time period just expired. Had a couple nibbles and one bite but the would be buyer backed out.
So it is a 1994 440 aft cabin. It has CAT 3126s with a little over 3000 hours on the motors. The motors were installed in 2003. We replaced the glass/canvas on the aft deck and bridge. New carpeting, reupholstered the helm seat and reconfigured the passenger seating on the bridge.
Here's a pic of the bridge seating :

Yes I did. I am not prepared for 31xx cats, nor the high hours.
