Guess I'm going to have to try this recycling the shrink. Just got to remember to take the phone out and snap some photos as I go, cuz next fall I'll have forgotten how it was! I mean it is a custom cover, all u need is a roll of shrink tape too! Hope I can get it snug enough to shed the snow! Mike

I think it would be nice to recycle the shrinkwrap but I live in a condo with no basement of garage so storage is limited.

2.5 and then some for wrap. I got mine down to around 700 before taxes but I had to build my own frame.

Rick,
Are the other costs you detailed parts and labour?

Cheeers and counting the days!!!

The invoice I received from the marina did list some misc. parts and such. The cost of labor was I believe included in the pricing of the various things that they did. I actually thought the cost of rebuilding the transmission was reasonable considering they had to lift the engine up and out to get to the transmission.

As long as everything works as it should when I launch I am pretty happy overall with the cost of the various things that they did.

Bass Pro brand has the same thing and it's cheaper than 3M. Does the same thing as compound & wax, IMO and u only have to do it once! Mike

I don't like to use products that "do two things" and from experience, they don't really do either one very well. I never got a good lasting wax job out of a cleaner/wax, and I don't let the boat get bad enough to need a restorer.

The dockbox at my old marina the latch was broken so I decided to leave it there. I just ordered a new dockbox for my new home.

My expenses so far in 2017 are as follows:

Winterize Engine Humbug Marina----------------------------------------290.00
Oil & Filter Change Humbug Marina-------------------------------------164.00
Winterize A/C System Humbug Marina----------------------------------40.00
Shrinkwrap Humbug Marina ------------------------------------------------370.00
Misc Mechanical Parts Humbug Marina--------------------------------69.30
Transmission Rebuild Humbug Marina-------------------------------2355.18
Summer Dockage Gibraltar Boat Yard-------------------------------1675.00
Taylor Stow & GO Dockbox in white-----------------------------------290.43

$5253.91

Over 5 grand and I have yet to hit the water. B O A T break out another thousand.

As a "new" owner of a 1988 Carver Montego, I must say I have spent almost as much in repairs as I paid for the entire boat.
Oil Change, spark plugs and wires, etc. $ 155.
Bilge pumps and other things... 350.
Replace outdrive, plus 2 pages of other repairs 6,794
Paint and repair bottom of boat 1,800
2 New Hatches 690

We chose not to have a survey done, although I think we would have bought the boat anyway.
We do know that we are not finished, as we plan to add a windlass, that was removed, and redo the toilet. Next we will do some renovation on the inside, but that will be minor, we hope.
