Finished with engines....................

Yesterday, Saturday Oct 22, we delivered HOLODECK up the Wareham River to her haul out point for the winter. I winterized her systems while in the water, had her oil and filters changed, and then headed out. We had a mile to the Cape Cod Canal, and then headed east until we reached the end of the land spit. Then a nice and easy (2800 rpm) run up the Wareham RIver. We hit some shallow spots of 7', but were careful and ran her until we came to the to prescribed marina. Docked her like a pro, and just let those two thirsty Big Blocks idle down while listening to the exhaust. Then, as I say to the Admiral on our regular voyages "Is my bow secure? " she answers, "yes", I then ask "Is my stern secure" again, "YES". I then reply "OK, finished with engines trip 17(as I count each voyage)". I shut her down, and we sadly left her at a strange dock with strange people.
On a brighter note, I was in the bilge and the Admiral hit the switch that has a tell tale on it to say the light in the bilge is on! I FOUND THE LIGHT! right under the rear stairwell, by the battery charger.!
Next weekend the dinghy, dock box and the small outboard comes home.
I hope all of your "Finished with engines" delivery goes as well or better than mine went! Although my season did not start until April 1, I am sure it will start early next year!
