HI, I am looking at buy a 1998 370 Voyager. What can be told about this boat model? I haven't seen the boat yet and it is a good distance from me so the more info I get the better.
Looking at the picture's, I am really wondering how tall all the rooms are the boat? I am 6'1" and would like to make sure there is head room. Also what are the cruising speeds and fuel consumption?
Pros and Cons?
Thanks

The 370 Voyager is an awesome boat. Built on the same hull as the 355/356 Aft Cabin and has wood free stringers. It had several different layouts in it's production life and all were nice. The salon and galley areas are fine for headroom (I'm 6'5) as well as the lower level where the head and staterooms are. The only one that may have diminished headroom is the master at the bow as the deck slopes in that area, but the bed is centerline, so it really shouldn't make a diffenrence. It rides well and feels solid when running with very little side rocking...even at the dock. It and the 380 Santego are two options for our next boat

Hi. I had a 97 370 voyager and was a great boat for our family. Channel speed steering was very relaxed compaired to our 340 sea ray. I didn't want a boat with wood in the stringers and the interior of the boat was perfect for our family. I liked to cruise at 3300 rpm. That was just right to get it out of the water and not feel to sluggish. She would plane with some tab use at 2800 rpm. Speeds I had were in direct relationship with rpm. 3000 rpm made 20 miles per hour. 3300rpm made 23 miles per hour. 3600 rpm made 26 miles per hour. My cruise speed of 3300 rpm and 23 miles per hour. Was giving us .78 miles per gallon.

I bought a 1998 last October and we love it. Plenty of Headroom. My son-in-law is 6'4" and has no problem. Good....Bridge is huge, cabin layout is one of the best I have ever seen on a boat this size, sleeps 6 or 8 depending on the sofa in the salon, integrated swim platform. Bad....cockpit a little on the small size, 7.4 Litre gas engines at 32 gph cruising at 18 knots, wet ride in heavy 5+ ft seas. I would recommend it to a friend and have!

The spec's on the brochure state headroom at 6' 5" but I don't have immediate access to measure it for you. You do take a step down coming in from the cockpit before taking two steps up into the galley and dinette area.

They say no wood below the water line and I see something about top hat stringers. Is this 1998 made that way? How are the stringers made?

The stringer system is a hollow one piece system molded outside the hull, then glassed into the hull while it is still in the mold. Very strong and...wood free...no rotten stringers or any stringer issues, really (unless someone hit something really hard). Carver started adding the "top hat" system to their boats in 1986 with the introduction of the 4207/4227 and spread it to the entire line by (I believe) 2001, when the 350 Mariner was the last boat to get the system. They even use it up to the Marquis 720 Tri Deck.
