Hello all, I bought à new windlass to be install on my Carver 325,1995, it will be install by a marina. I received the estimate, but I do not understand what they want to do, especially to move the new windlass to the rear for more drop for the anchor line?

Could you provide more info on this, I will contact the marina for more info but I wanted your opinion.

Merci

Depends on the geometry of your hardware. The only thing I can think of is to lower the angle of the rode as it goes into the gypsy. The rode should be level with the entry to the gypsy for best results and longevity. Sometimes it's not practical to simply raise the deck works as high as you need it but moving it back a little will help cut down the angle.

Or maybe they're dealing with a condition in the anchor locker.

Let us know what they say.
