Looks like Xintex has finally made some significant changes the their CO detector. Very low 4ma draw and 7 year life span among other things. Direct replacement including same mounting holes as the old. I am severely overdue in my replacement which should happen every 5 years with the older model. http://www.fireboy-xintex.com/marine-ca ... or-cmd5-m/

I have become a fan of the commercial smoke/CO alarms that are stand-alone battery powered. For about $25, you get a very reliable unit that alerts when the AA batteries need replacing (about every 1-2 years). It also says "Fire" or "Carbon Monoxide" when it alarms so you know what it is detecting. For about $50, you can get one with a 10 year battery and programmable location that says something like "Carbon Monoxide in bedroom." I have one in the salon, and one in each cabin/sleeping area. No connection to main power is required, so mounting is very easy and you don't have to worry about battery drain.
