Transport a boat who do you recommended? Ontario

Postby cojo » September 6th, 2017, 11:27 am

Hello All,

I may purchase a 2004 carver mariner 360 and would need it moved from Port Dover to Midland Ontario.

Does anyone have any recommendations or have used a company to move a boat like mine.

THX in advance,
Cory

Welcome to the forum....lots of time left, you could drive it back.....I have an idea the radar arch would have to come down.....just bolted but still.Gas/transport could maybe be about even up, one thing if you have the small blocks, they are very good on gas at hull speed.Good luck....havent used a transport guy in years so can't help with that aspect, sorry........ :beergood:
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.....

Land Tug is the company. Gerry is the guy. Brilliant. I used him for my Mariner to go from Penetang to Kawarthas last year. He'll be getting busy now with all the boats complete no out. You can google to get his number.

Cruise it. Best shakedown cruise ever and an enjoyable holiday. It's an easy cruise across Ontario to the Trent and up to Midland. Not sure what your transport would cost, but I am thinking cruising is cheaper. I brough my 42C Silverton up in 2008 whan gas was the most expensive it has been ever and I was under $3000 and 5 days.

If you have the time I agree with the above post. Cruise there yourself in the boat. It will be a memory to last a lifetime.

Hey Cojo...
Just purchased a 350 mariner in Ottawa.
Was going to trailer it but was worried with the arch.
We have decided to leave it in Ottawa for the winter and drive it to Penetenguishene in the spring.
It would be a great trip and less cost then trucking it.
Land tug would have cost me $2800 to thrive it Midland area.
Maybe we can hook up and do the trip together

It would be good to hire a shipping company, as they are experienced, so without any problem they would carry out the transport smoothly.
