Saw this Formula at the Detroit Boat Show. 1800 HP, should get up and go I would think.

Yikes, those outboards are getting more and more powerful. Bet you we will see 600hp in the next 5 years or so.

You do know Marine 7 engines at 627 HP have been around for a few years now.

The 557 HP version has been around at least 7 years or so.

They're not cheap but have become fairly popular in the Florida high rent districts especially on these really big CC's that are being built these days

There's a you tube video of a huge CC with 5 of those bad boys mounted on the transom. That's over 3100 HP.

I was just told at the boat show by the guys at the Volvo booth that Volvo is thinking of de-tuning the Marine 7 to reduce HP. Don't know why but that's the word. They're making a few changes and possibly adding diesel version to the line. They've also hung a duo-prop lower on it. Thought for sure it would be the forward facing prop version but it's not.

Would love to hear more about these changes, not that I'd ever be in the market for one.
Pretty sure the duo-prop was introduced a couple years ago.

Can you imagine the support structure needed for 4 or 5 engines at 1100 lbs. a piece? And then the torque generated on that support? WOW. 8-) er

Probably have to use Adamantium in the transom and hull. :D
