Dual Helm Control Throttle Position Question

Good day All! This may be a stupid question but I am new to Dual Helm controls and can't find anything about how Salon throttles should be set when operating from the flybridge and vice-versa. Assuming the shift control should be in the neutral position but throttle control seems to elude me. Can anyone explain how the Carver system works?
Thanks for any help. :help:

Welcome to the forum......you operate each as if they are alone....one thing to check, have someone watch the shifters /throttles in the salon while you operate the bridge controls and see if the salon controls move ....if they do then make sure you don't have hats or anything hanging on the levers that could jamb them while you are operating....same goes for bridge control console weather covers.

Welcome to the forum.

As Bud said.

In a cable type system, the controls are essentially tied together so to speak. How that's done depends on the controls, application, and manufacturer. Some have a set of throttle/shift cables going from the bridge to the lower station controls, then a second set going from the lower station controls to the engine/tranny. The other method is a separate set of cable going directly from each helm right to the engine/tranny without a set going from one station to the other. Either way, when you move a throttle or shift cable at one station, the lever at the other station will move at the same time. If it doesn't, a cable is broken or disconnected. The only applications this type of operation differs is if you have hydraulic or fly-by-wire throttle and shift.

Thank you very much! I thought about it after looking at the boat yesterday and couldn’t find a single thing online! Good advice about keeping unused controls clear of any obstructions! I’m excited to take her for her maiden voyage next week!

Cheers!
