Hello all,
Not sure if my refrigerator is working up to par as it hasn't froze the water bottle after 24 hours.
Of course it has been in the mid 90s and hotter the last week so thats not helping.
But in case I need to purchase a new frig, what size did the 2001 350 Mariner come with?
Cant find that info anywhere.
Thanks

Whats there now? Make and model? Should have label inside the door. Norcold de 0061 or other apx 7 cuft? even if in the 90s should have frozen water in 24 hrs if its working good. Does it need to be defrosted? Also in my carver owners book I have a breakdown of installed equipment and serial numbers for everything from the build.. do you have yours,? Carver will slso have your boat info if you give the the hull number.

It's a Norcold DE461.
It has been unplugged for about two weeks now and I just plugged the boat back.in Friday nite. As of tonite water bottle in freezer still not frozen. Hate to spend the dollars for a new one but this one is 19 years old after all. Freezer gets cold but not frozen. Frig gets cool but not as cool as you would want it.

I never thought of that..........
Yea all the way up. Might try cleaning the fins but not sure how much that may help.

If you turned it on from dead hot, i don't think it would freeze a water bottle in 24 hrs.
Put a small thermometer in there and see what temps it is getting to. If you have the a/c on in the boat it should get below to around 25 in the freezer and maybe 35-38 in the fridge. If the a/c is off and your in FL, all bets are off!

my norcold replacement will get to 2-5 degrees in the freezer and maintain in less than 24 hrs with no ac running and 90s . norcolds have never had a great reputation on keeping things very cold. if you can only get in the mid 20s in the freezer no wonder fridge isnt really cold. . putting in couple thermomters will tell you where your at ...if you decide to replace it looks like yours is a 6.3 cubic ft. fridge. i replaced my norcold with a VITRIFRIGO DP2600. its a 8.1 cu. ft fridge. 3yr warranty. if youll check the specs below for the 2 fridges you'll see its a inch or so taller and abit wider than your existing but the extra room inside is great. it will also keep ice cream solid .if you have the extra bit of room to enlarge the opening i think you would be happy with it. others may chime in with their thoughts too.

Yes, the Old NoColds were a bit (a lot) light on the BTU's for a boat.

I ended up buying the VITRIFRIGO DP2600 as it got very good reviews and I have the room to put it in.
Thanks for the help.

any addtion to cabinet ventilation around the fridge will also help with its performance
