SInce we are looking at 70 degrees this weekend, I am heading down to remove the canvas and bimini. The yard usually removes it when they shrink wrap, but they do not handle with care. I have $12,000.00 worth of new canvas, and done want it hurt. Now, not sure of when they are shrink wrapping. SO, removing it after wiping with water to get dust off, then dry, then home for a coast of eisenglass polish. As for the boat being exposed….lWIll it help any if I cover the bridge console and seats with teh white canvas covers that came with teh boat? I will spray with Scotchguard to quasi water proof it. Just wondering if we get rain, will I get any inside the cabin? ALWAYS have a full canvas up. Opinions are surely welcomed!

We cover everything. Even with canvas on. The upholstery still looks brand new. Cannot hurt it.

Hoping wrapping will be sooner than later.

If you are worried, get a cheap plastic tarp and tie it down over the bridge, not the frame.....that is what we did many times. As for the windows, IMAR is good stuff and when done cut old bed sheets , lay on top of each and roll them up so the sheet separates the plastic....plastic doesn't touch itself is the key.....

By all means cover the instruments with the cover provided by Carver. Those keep things dry, probably do not need to Scotchguard it. I use my covers all year long to protect from constant sun. Your bridge has a drain system built into it, so rain water should go to your self bailing rails. Water should not run into cabin. The only concern there is if it rains hard, does not dry before shrink wrapped, and the shrink wrap has no venting, then you may get some mildew. For a couple extra bucks, they can build a door in the shrink wrap. Imar is necessary if you have Strataglass. Not as necessary for eisenglass, but I would recommend Imar. Leaves a little conditioner behind. Definitely seperate each panel as mentioned above. No need to roll up, just leave flat panels lay in berth. er

Omar is good stuff or 410. We save our old towels for spacers. I figure I will use a soft wet microfiber cloth and a busker of water to wipe down the plastic then let dry and polish. At least we are having a couple 70 degree days so it won’t be damaged taking it down. One year it rained for a week even though old canvas was up it leaked. Mildew a plenty that year.

The old gal is ready for her winter nap. Canvas polished and stored in basement, bridge and seats covered awaiting the shrink wrap. I hope for a few more days to get some of the spring prep work out of the way.Looks like an entirely different boat with the canvas down.
