Great Lakes Skipper Reminder

Just wanted to remind people here about Great Lakes Skipper. These people specialize in picking up spare parts from boat manufacturers that they do not want to stock any more or companies that are closing their doors, a great place to find things that were specific to a boat manufacturer.

I had been searching on how to make up new fresh and raw water wash down labels since the 2 I have on the bow are faded and one is actually broken hanging on by a single screw. Kinda gave up and then yesterday evening I went to GLS and searched "Carver Label". Sure enough they had these labels so I ordered 2 of each. https://www.greatlakesskipper.com/searc ... rver+label

Yes! I just ordered new dash switch’s and some do-dads for our boat. Used them before, great service and prices are good. Highly recommend!

On some stuff they have some pretty high prices, but others can be quite the steal! Also, check around for other things that might work in your situation, but are a little different from exactly what you need. For example, I needed a couple waste tanks to replace in my Carver. They had many different ones but nothing exactly like I needed. I could get exact replacements from other places, but they were very $$$. Found a couple tanks that GLS had that were for a Larson. They were slightly smaller than my existing tanks, but plenty big enough for our uses, so I bought them and the cost for BOTH was less than just the SHIPPING for an exact replacement from the other places I checked. it was also funny that to ship them both would cost $250 but to ship them individually cost $50 each. The customer service person I talked to there figured that out and wrote them up as two different orders and the still arrived the exact same day.

Hopefully this can be added to the Helpful Boating Websites page. Great tool.
