For that matter where could you get a replacement top for any Carver. I see their tag on all of mine. Seems like if a supplier already had the patterns, it may make the price more reasonable.

1987 - find a local canvas shop. Actually, find a few and look at their work. Then pick the best one.

Or, do what we did - buy a walking foot sewing machine, a how-to-book and kit, some sunbrella, and have at it.
If you like blue, there's a guy on ebay, I believe user marine4parts, selling 59 yard rolls of custom blue sunbrella for 650 bucks. He sells surplus from Decatur, In - Formula Boats. It's a nice deep blue - see my pic album.
Can save a ton of money. That's what we did, still have about half the roll left over, and we think it came out great.

Do you want a bimini for the bridge, a cover for the cockpit, or both? Do you have the frames, or do you need the whole shebang? The canvas guys around here would probably want about $400 for each - without frames.

Entire bimini tops are going cheap these days on eBay - you can't make them for some of these prices - just make sure you get the right length, width, and height: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... p&_sacat=0

Thanks Fred and Captain John!

I have the bamini top. I'd like the cover for the cockpit. I have the frame and the bamini top but not a frame for the cockpit(is one required)?

You guys are awesome!

You are going to have to find a good canvas guy. Having canvas made from a pattern is NOT the way to have it done. I have a friend that is in the canvas business and he and his brothers will not make any thing from a pattern because they know you will not be happy down the road. Mike
