If if if the decline happens. I have the chance now to get the shrink removed by the marina. My buddy is getting his removed today. But, what if we don't get a season? Another $1000 to get it put back on. What a decision !!!!!

Look at it this way, if it does not happen it will still be the cheapest boating season you ever had not to mention your boat will be in the water early when the rush does hit. I would certainly have it removed because I do have a good feeling parks and marinas will open before the end of the month.

According to to this, you can launch your boat and use the waterways to your hearts desire in Ontario. Just can't use a marina just yet. https://globalnews.ca/news/6907925/coro ... s-marinas/

Go figure, buy it but don't use it.

Hmmm...devil's advocate here.....what if there is another much stronger wave and all the marina staff is sent home again....who will shrink/tarp the boat for you this fall ??.....Remember in Jan we were just fine here in Canada....now look and it is not over yet by any means.

You are right a tough decision... :-O
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

One would have to hope that if a second wave hits this summer or fall they would allow for boats to be pulled and made ready for winter. To not allow that is unfathomable in my mind.

Of course I never thought our Governor would ban motorboating but she did for awhile.

One guess would be that, people's health would win out over some boats.....now that said where does the insurance industry weigh in, considering to be covered you would have to have proper winterizing/protection and lay up period out of the water in this region of North America.......

I can see them shutting down marinas to the public again but allow staff to haul out and winterize. For those that do their own winterizing though, I don't know how they would get around that if nobody's allowed on marina property during the shutdown. Fingers crossed we won't have to deal with that though a second wave seems more and more likely as experts weigh in based on previous viral outbreaks.

Even though my marina was closed it was still open to anyone who wanted to work on their boat. I was there last Saturday readying my boat for launch along with a lot of other people. They are open now and launching boats. I am still hoping to launch tomorrow but the weather may not cooperate. Only a high of 40* and a low tomorrow night of 25* may keep me on the hard for another week.
