So it seems the verdict is in from Wiarton Willie, Punxsutawney Phil, Shubenacadie Sam and wait for it , our marine connection, Lucy the Lobster......consensus is 6 more weeks of winter.
It'll go quick....

No surprise there. Even the calendar says spring does not begin until March 20th. My new boat is safely stored at the dealership awaiting my April 15th delivery. Hope to have a better season than last year.

More importantly, about 92 days to launch. Have no idea what kind of rodent predicts that timeline. Maybe it's the gin drinking hammerfore. Finally found out the name of my preferred beverage - it's called the Skinny Bastard. Lime infused gin and key lime water.
Rick - what is the story behind another new boat? Hope your dealer bailed you out of your mistake on the lake.

Our Quebec Groundhog, Fred La Marmotte, died on Groundhog Day (today) after 14 years of service.

Short story is that the dealer that sold me the Tahoe T-16 with the bad motor offered me $19500 it I traded it in on a new Tahoe T-18. So while at the boat show I saw another boat that interested me a 22 Stingray 182SC. I spoke with that dealership and told them of all my problems with the T-16 and the Mercury 75 HP motor. They asked me to bring it in to their techs could look at it. They fixed the last issue that I had that caused me to be towed back to the dock.
Their techs took the boat out and put it through it paces and they gave me a thumbs up that they would take it in on trade. They called me and offered me $26200 on trade. So, I then bought the Stingray. I felt it was the right thing to do to tell them of all my issues and not pass off a suspect boat on them. Their trade in offer was more than fair.
They are storing the boat for me until my delivery date April 15th. Oh yeah, the Stingray has a 115 HP Yamaha SHO outboard for power. No more Mercs for me. At least for now.

Wow Rick, that is quite the difference in allowed trade dollars between the two.....good luck with your new boat.
