Hi Group, We just got our 1975 28' Carver Santa Cruz home. We purchased it in April in Portland, Or and trailered it to Boise, Id. (Another story) anyway we haven't had much time to get to know the boat also we didn't get to spend much time with the owner so we learning the systems on our own through trial and error. I went to operate the trim tabs so I could pressure wash then and I couldn't get them to work. There is two toggle switches one at the lower helm and one at the helm on the flybridge that are labeled bow up, bow down, port and starboard. Is there a master switch somewhere that turns them on? There is one switch on the switch panel that has a little bubble gauge under it but un-labeled. I tried turning it on but still nothing. Thanks, Jim

Not sure where your switches are but check you main breaker box. It should have a switch for it. Also find your reservoir if they are hydraulic. I just came across mine and found it empty. I've had my 405 for a month and located the reservoir under the rear stateroom on the starboard side mounted to a bulkhead. I have to figure out how to fill it now as it looks like I have to be a contortionist to get to it. :approve:

I found my reservoir under the pump and it's real easy to get to. It's also empty. What type of oil/fluid should I use in it? Jim

Generally any type of automatic transmission fluid. I would retract the tabs first then take my measurement if fluid is needed.
