I have found most of the functional items I need for the boat to run properly. Question, Where is the reservoir for the hydraulic steering located on the 3007 aft cabin model.

I have not been able to locate it so I could check the fluid level.

Thanks in advance.

Rick if you have the sea star type hydraulic , it might just be the upper helm mechanism itself....there is a cap to remove to fill it there.

There are a couple of different setups but chances are your helm/steering pump IS the reservoir. If you can see the first few inches of the front of the helm, you'll see a little knob on the top where you fill and check the level, otherwise it'll be a remote fill close by somewhere on the dash above the helm/steering pump.

Me thinks u have Hynautic with a pressurized canister some where. It was located in the engine compartment on the port wall of our 1986 Mariner. Happy hunting.

I would guess it is Hynautic based on the age and type of boat. Usually found somewhere near the piston that move the rudders - aft end of the boat. It needs to be accessible, as you sometimes need to add a little oil or pump it up with a bicycle pump. As noted above, it is pressurized. Good luck!

Rick, if you have a pressurized system, don't remove the knob on the helm.

Dual station. The other day I looked under the upper helm station steering wheel. There is a metal block there with 3 hydraulic lines running out from the block. Still looking for the reservoir. Will look more when I have time. I am currently at Put in Bay Ohio for the 2017 I-LYA Powerboat regatta. Lots of events to participate in not much time to look in other areas for the reservoir.
