When was the last time the gear lube and filters were changed? When were the gear case and transom anodes last replaced?

Yep done them thanks

Umm ice machine to be honest thinking of ripping that out & fitting another beer fridge as cant see using the ice machine much plus also dont like idea of ice from the main water tanks or can you modify the supply to take a seperate supply ?

For the ice maker, I was always hooked up to shore water, so the ice was made with shore water.
I'd turn off the water to the ice maker when out on the lake. Installed valves to do so.

You can install a good water filter right before the ice maker, or use the ice for a beer/beverage cooler so that you minimize the amount of time your refrigerator comes on at anchor which will extend your battery power, or you can use it as extra freezer space.

Do you know of a fridge that would fit in the same space ?

Take a measurement of the icemaker, EdgeStar may make a fridge that will fit in that space. Also check camper & marine sites for a fridge that may fit in that space.
Viper what filter would you recommend for the ice maker. Presently have a camper charcoal filter and a water softener in line on the shore water supply and ice still funky! Its ok for chilling the beer, but to so good for the cocktails. Marina water supply is public water supply in black plastic water line exposed to the elements.

I don't have a filter system in mine but have seen some that do. I use mine for additional freezer space and making ice to go into the cooler. The 3807 has an bar fridge beside the ice maker so I don't need yet another one. Never really noticed what others are using for filters except to say that it's one more step to consider in winterizing. I guess the filter one decides on would depend on your tolerance for lingering water system tastes. I have seen some vessels equipped with reverse osmosis units and suspect that would be the best bet. We carry bottled water on board but if I wanted to use the on-board water to drink including the ice, reverse osmosis is the way I would go unless there's something better out there. Is the water softener working as you expected?

That's basically what we do with the ice now, use it for the cooler and buy a bag of ice for cocktails. Hind sight says I should have replaced the ice maker with another fridge now. Oh well. The softener is one of those camper stand alone ones. It works great IMO because your hair doesn't feel like a brillo pad anymore after a shower. Last all season and at the end of the season you run 2#'s of table salt through it to regenerate the medium. Think it's a Flow Pur and ran about $180.00. Sits on shore inline with the shore water supply.
