Kohler7500 watt generator

Postby Mindy » July 27th, 2018, 4:39 pm

Hello,
I have a question about starting our generator. We have a 1986 4207. I know we have to run the blowers for a few minutes before starting. On the panel does the Ship and the shore main breakers have to be off when I turn on the generator? I don’t want to fry anything.. mainly myself

Our 4207 main panels switches had a slide that was slid so that only one or the other fed the boat. I could start the generator before moving the slide.
If you simply have a single breaker. Then somewhere they is a relay box that automatically switches the feed.
But, that is only my experience. Do you have the owners book?
Thanks
Fred
