The wood inside of our boat is starting to mildew. When we leave for the weekend we have been leaving several windows slightly opened. It’s almost time to close her up for the winter. My question is what’s the best way to wash down the walls and what’s the best way to restore the wood without growing more mildew?
Thanks!

Is there a source of moisture in there you aren't seeing, maybe bilge water behind panels etc....have a real good look around to see if there is any mildew/mold behind panels.....I have seen people with small solar powered vents that fit in the hatches.
For mildew we have always just used a mild bleach solution, test first on a hidden spot...then you could use Murphys etc.....read instructions first for your application.

We haven’t thought about that! We will investigate for water issues. Never thought about using bleach either! Thanks!

Try vinegar on mildew.

I have tried vinegar. It has removed it but returns the next weekend!
