Hey Folks I installed a clamshell on the forward bilge thru hull. I will let you know if it prevents the back flow into the bilge.

I hope that solves your problem and doesn't create another! The clam shell will reduce the discharge flow if and when the forward bilge really is needed, thus lowering it's intended pumping capacity. Wouldn't placing a duck bill in the discharge hose or a check valve in the discharge hose be a better solution to your expected culprit filling your forward bilge with water? Just a thought and hopefully you never have the need for bilge pump.

Looks good, nice big one. Keep us posted....

Not sure but I think on a later model they moved the discharge point way back further on the hull away from the bow wave.

HOLY MOLY!!! Talk about a shat show! The diagram in the manual was incorrect! It indicates the forward thru hull for the bilge and the aft for A/C.
I got it running today and the clamshell is on the A/C thru hull! Any and all suggestions for a fix will be appreciated. I am thinking that perhaps using a dremel tool, I can open up the space forward so the A/C has proper drainage. Given that she's in the water, I will have to try docking bow first in a spot where I can work. I am concerned that if I remove the clamshell entirely I'll have 3 holes and cured 3M to deal with. What do you guys think?

Just run it that way, I really don't think that will restrict the discharge enough to do anything, no worse than an elbow, all it is doing is redirecting the flow. It certainly looks big enough.....My opinion anyway.

Did the air work ok when you tried it ?

Looks like maybe a mistake by the installer at the factory. If you have access from the inside, just swap the hoses to reflect the drawing. This way the clamshell will be doing what you intended to accomplish.

Great idea Hans, great thinking!

Happy Easter. Bud the A/C does in fact work. Hans, that's a great idea but access is horrendous. I would probably have to take out the entire stateroom cabinetry. I know this because when I view the air conditioning unit under the bunk, the outflow hose seems to go into never-never land. Ugh!

Have wife do it if she's small.
Or a small teenager?
I had to replace a broken starboard trim tab nipple.
Wife squeezed in between the genny tank and the access hole to the tank and was asked to do it.
My other option was to remove all the exhaust hoses, trim reservoir, and a few other things to get back there.
Worth a shot.
