We just took possession of our 2002 Carver 346 Aft-Cabin. We're just getting familiar with things and I noticed a pair of ceiling vents mid way of the main salon. Can someone tell me what they're for or how they operate? We are loving life tonight on our first night.

If they are like the ones on the ceiling of the 396 they are connected to under the brow of the bridge. While underway they provide spray protected positive air flow/pressure in the salon and help keep out any engine room gasses and station wagon effect that might leak past the closed salon door. I keep mine closed when stationary which keeps the AC in and the spiders out. It's a thoughtful addition I have not seen on other boats
