I am beginning the restoration of my 1984 3607,

Project 1 keep water outside where it belongs.
A) portlights seem to all have problems. So any assistance on identifying part numbers would be appreciated.
most of the portlights are 24 by 7 inches +- rectangular. Ideally I would like to just replace the lenses but am not opposed to replacing the whole fixture. most of the knobs for the dogs are missing as well. The seals look good so I can probably get away with just lenses.

B) I think another serious leak is all the Rail stanchions. a few of them seem to be challenging to reach the bolt hardware below. Any hints would be appreciated.

Do some searches on here... I've posted info on these portlights. They were made by Grey Enterprises but they were bought out a long time ago. I think Pompanette is the current owner. You can buy stuff directly from them, but once you get the part numbers for stuff you're looking for check online to see if some retailers have them for a discount. You'll get the same thing for ~20% less.

You can also buy the seal by the foot. I replaced all of mine about 10 years ago. It's a self-stick and you just clean the old hardened stuff out, cut the new piece to length and stick in on. They work great.

For the railing stanchions, you can get to all of them but you have to remove some panels inside. In the cubbies in the salon you have to remove the shelf (two screws on each end) then there are two panels behind that shelf and each has a screw in the corner (so a total of 8 more screws) and you can get to all those stanchions. If you take them off, use butyl tape to seal them back down

I have the same project this winter on my 89 3227. I would prefer to replace the lenses only. Here's the Pompanette website, http://pompanettellc.com/product-category/portlights/. I'm going to start there first.

Keep me posted on your findings, please. Thanks!
