Prop shaft zincs

Hello,

I have a 1991 Carver 33 aft cabin with twin 454’s. My diver can not find the correct shaft zinc diameter to replace them. He is starting to wonder if it is metric. Does nobody have an idea? He said it lies somewhere between the normal sizes of 1 1/8-1 1/2.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ray…

Go down in the engine room and measure the shafts with calipers, that will give you the exact shaft size....my guess , they are not metric.

1 3/8 was a popular size, but definitely check as bud37 says.

I seriously doubt it is metric coming from Carver. That being said measuring is the best way but as mentioned 1 3/8 does fall between the measurements you mentioned. Regardless of what he size may be, this place will have it. https://boatzincs.com/

Probably 1 1/4. My single engine gas a 1 3/8" shaft and i know the book says that the option with two engines has two 1 1/4 shafts. My boat is a 2807 Riviera but your boat may have been built the same?
Good luck- checking in the engine room/area to confirm is a good call.
