42 SS DECK REAR DECK DRAINS

Does anyone know why Carver would terminate the drains BELOW the waterline??

Let us know the answer, my 360SS is the same and I've often wondered why also.

Just spitballin here but maybe it is to avoid CO ( exhaust gasses ) coming back into the cockpit thru the drains if they are near the exhausts..that all I can think of... :beergood:
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion..... :popcorn:
