Barnacle Buster

Hi all,
Wondered if anybody else ever used Barnacle Buster in their mechanical's? I ran a gallon into my Westerbeke through the sea strainer and had good results. It cleared the glass removed the green and the crustations in short order. I let it sit in the water pathways for about 4 hours before flushing it out. What came out of the raw water exhaust was evidence that it did its job. I could actually hear the effervescence going on within the engine during the process. I took a great video of it and you can hear it working but the video is HD and the site won't upload it because of the size I guess. I plan to use it in my A/C coils and the motors next.

Well Wayne, I haven't used it yet, but got a couple gallons sitting here and was going to give an enema this season. By the sounds of it, it works. Mike, email me the video mjk4@tds.net, Thanks!

Hi bwknight,
I opened my strainer and used a wet/shop vac to clean it out. Filled it with BB with screen in place for about an hour. Through the cap with washer in a bucket of BB at the same time. The cap looks new and the seal was undamaged afterward. I then with strainer open and seacock still closed started the Gen and pulled the BB in from the strainer while keeping the strainer full with BB by pouring it in the strainer by hand. Once all in, I shut the Gen off, replaced the cap on the strainer and let it sit for about 4 hours. Then just open your seacock and start and run up to operating temp and see what comes out. I can see the screen through the glass clearly now.
